A progressive is someone who realizes that in order to promote and impliment change there are certain truths and steps that must be taken. First, a progressive must realize that the current system is broken, or at least badly damaged. Second, a progressive must realize that in oreder to get the changes that we want we must allow for real and truly different ideas and ideals to be not only brought up, but also discussed and debated. Along with the discussion and debate, a true progressive must allow that the discussion and outcomes should not only be used as fodder for prognostication, but should also be brought forward aspossible workable solutions to the aforementioned broken system problem. Lastly, true progressives should be able to understand that there is a power structure that is poart of the broken system and that those in power are VERY reluctant to try new things for fear of losing that power.
