For me, being a progressive presupposes the innate goodness in the hearts and minds of children, and that if society is shaped to always protect the natural human instinct toward compassion, fairness, equity and peace, then that is what we will reap. I believe that Progressives honor the balance of man with nature, and seek to maintain that balance in ways that demonstrate there is enough for everyone.I believe that Progressives honor and preserve the past when things have been done right, not just when things have been done before. And I believe that Progressives seek to change the things that have proven untenable or inequitable, using the wisdom of the ages and the understanding of the future.
