For me, the following quote from John F. Kennedy sums up what a progressive should strive to be:'Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.'Basically, we should look beyond petty disputes across party lines, and set our focus on the future. A progressive is someone who works diligently in the present, keeps in mind the lessons of the past, and never loses focus on the future.
