Progressives are more concerned about people than profits. They try to ensure that everyone is taken care of, including the poor and disenfranchised. They are not judgemental but try to approach each person with openness and respect, not fear and suspicion. They are open to new ideas and new ways of viewing the world. They understand that this planet is delicate and that we're only on it a short time so we must tread lightly in order to leave it intact for the next generation. It could be said that progressives are more aligned with the teachings of Jesus, whether they're personally religious or not, than many people today who call themselves Christians.
