A progressive is grounded in the most basic of human values – compassion for all living beings, equal rights for all people of the world, social consciousness resulting in action, a sense that life is precious and must be preserved, and of reverence for our earth and its sustainability. She uses her voice to fight for her own rights, inspires others to find and use their voices, and humbly serves her community, building bridges to encourage unity for the greater good. She insists that our children must have the best education without falling through the chasm of under-privilege. Evolution is based on deliberate action, and results in profound progress and, indeed, survival. It truly is progressive to have the courage to reach out and take the torch as it is being passed to us by those who are now our ancestors.
