The key part of the word 'progressive' is 'progress.'Progressive's mark their victories by the extent of the progress that's being made toward a fairer, more just society.Sometimes it seems that the kind of progress that was made by FDR in the thirties will never be equaled. In fact the radical right has ceaselessly tried to erode the legacy of FDR in protecting the right of Americans to live in a more equitable society.To be a progressive is to not only defend yesterday's progress but to aspire towards an even better America in the future.
