What is a progressive?George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and all the other signers to the Constitution were progressives. Thomas Edison, , Abraham Lincoln Franklin Roosevelt and Martin Luther King were also progressives. All these great men were open minded, receptive and readily willing to consider new ideas.All Americans have benefited from these great men's progressive actions. Because without their progressive thought we would still be a monarchy, no freedom of religion, have no bill of rights, still use candles, own slaves, no social security for the disabled and elderly and still practice discrimination in the work place and voting booth.Being progressive is to be a free man with the right to exercise free thought and not fear retribution and ridicule.Howard Boyer
