I wrote out about 5 progressive tenets and they all ended with the word 'justice.' I've edited it a bit. To be a progressive is to:1) work for economic justice such that institutional free economies need the human touch;2) work for social justice such that justice is, indeed, color and class blind;3) work for taxation FAIRNESS AND JUSTICE;4) work for populist governance, as opposed to corporate governance;5) work for environmental justice; a balanced approach to the environment will create a balanced approach to energy policy and practice.6) work for an inclusive global community, one that will spearhead foreign policy, environmental, energy, and domestic policies. 7) work for health as a fundamental human right, first, and healthcare as a fundamental role of a central government, second.8) work steadfastly to retain faith as a tenet of our personal integrity, AND to leave religion outside the door of our national policy making.9) demonstrate to all America that when progressive values steer our national policy, public education and the pursuit of a level global intellectual playing field become reality.
