What IS America? Progressives understand that America is the idea that humans possess the ability to create a democratic society, based on the Rule of Law and respect for Human Dignity. America is a nation of diverse people that is guided, and united, by a written Constitution. What is UN-American? It is un-American to refuse to follow the Constitution. These things are also un-American: torture, racist acts, untrustworthy public servants, spying on citizens, destroying our ecosystem, attacking non-threatening nations, the government's failure to provide for the general welfare, and its failure to promote global human security.Progressives are vigilant, active participants in the unfinished work that is America.
