A progressive is someone who still believes that government can be a help to its citizens. Progressives understand that there is a need to work together for the common good, that the free market doesn't solve all problems, and that our most vulnerable citizens must be protected. Progressives do not fear change, and place great importance on the education of our children for tommorrow. Progressives follow up with actions, not just rhetoric, to protect the environment on which we all depend. Finally, progressives view other nations with respect, and see diversity as an asset. This perpective can provide the framework for cooperating as true partners in shaping a more comprehensive peace in the world.
