Progressives believe in individual freedom, but that we are all in this enterprise called American together. We share responsbilitiy for one another. We promote an inclusive society where all are treated with human dignity and afforded all human rights and opportunties and no is excluded based on race, orgin, sexual orientation, age, or disability. Our values start with the individual to family to community. We don't believe in fundamentlist intrepretations of the constitution or religious scriptures, but rather in a dynamic critical thinking problem view of the world where all can live in dignity and peace. We affirm non violence before an violence, togetherness while affirming individual freedom. We affirm justice and peace always over war and violence. We look to the future believing in our shared hertiage and values. We believe in religous freedom and also freedom from religion but always affirm the values of human dignity and community. We believe in science and logic without giving up the mystery of life and joy of living. We affirm our shared life on this planet and realize we must find ways to live with the planet and all creatures well to sustain a quality of life for all.
