Progressives believe in moving forward. We aren’t afraid the future will be different. We know that it will and that we can work (not fight) to make it better! Unlike conservatives waging a doomed battle to go back to 19th century political, religious and corporate authoritarianism, we honor 20th century progress and are eager to build on it. We want more economic justice, more liberty of thought, more scientific advancement, more respect for differences and more international and interfaith cooperation – not less. Progressives envision a safer, happier world with plentiful opportunities for everyone, which can never be achieved through tyranny, paternalism and pandering to elites.
