Teach students to question not just to memorize, education is not a game of Jeopardy. It is not good versus evil, but something much less Manechean and much more complex. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open. The orthodox needs to be challenged as it has proven itself so often misperceived and incorrect. Look at issues in depth and with an historic perceptive, always seek opposing points of view. The real check and balance inhertent in a truly democratic system is an informed and caring public. These are important steps toward progressive thinking.
