A progressive accepts that nothing in life is constant. Change is inevitable, but people have the power to shape and guide that change. The progressive, with a clear view of the world and a strong moral compass, effects that change. For the progressive, however, there is no ultimate goal; the struggle for compassion and equality is in the present and is always present. The progressive is not content with the status quo, because what suits us now may one day seem a little tight around the middle. The progressive looks clearly toward the future, but works in the moment.
