Glenn Y. - Las Vegas, NM
A progressive is a citizen who seeks to improve the common good. Progressive goals and outcomes are not determined by the market. Rather education, health, protection of the environment, defense, social insurance, disaster relief, and basic economic infrastructure (roads, flood control, utilities, etc.) are public goods that should be publicly financed. Progressives view citizens as members of a society with obligations to the larger community. Not content to let economic competition always determine social, economic, and political power, progressives seek a society in which mutuality, equity, respect, and tolerance are key ideals.
