A person who deeply believes in democracy and the social contract: that all people should have at minimum security from harm, enough to eat, a decent place to live, meaningful work, a quality education, access to health care, a thriving environment, and dignity for our elders. Given an active, involved citizenry and thoughtful leadership, we can realize the founding fathers' goal of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
