A progressive is a person who acts, through political action or protest, to move our society forward toward becoming one that protects the rights and freedoms, and advances the quality of life for ALL of its citizens, rather than the current one that only protects the rights of large corporations, and the quality of life for small, already wealthy and powerful special interest groups.
