A progressive is someone who realizes that she did not get where she is completely on her own. She had help along the way, whether it was a family that pushed the child to succeed no matter what or maybe the help came in the form of not having to worry where her next meal is coming from. A progressive recognizes this privilege and wants to make sure others have the same opportunities, no matter where they started. A progressive wants to make sure every single person can catch up to the others; that we not simply give others help, but maybe wait up for them.
