A Progressive is a person who sees government as an equal-opportunity entity that serves the interests of all of the citizens. It must never serve narrow interests of discriminate against any group of citizens against any other group. It acts as a mechanism to spread the burden of calamities amongst all while sharing its benefits amongst all. It puts the welfare of its citizens above other considerations. It treats everyone equally.
