A progressive is an active member of our democracy who works alongside society’s most disenfranchised communities toward a common good defined by liberty, equality and prosperity for all. A progressive believes in the innate goodness of every person, and understands that all humans are connected, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “in a single garment of destiny.” This understanding leads progressives to make space in their lives to become educated about political issues and candidates, to vote in every election, and to be leaders in their families and communities to encourage others to do the same.
