James K. - Springfield, MO
A progressive is dedicated to positive change, while a conservative attempts to maintain the status quo. Progressivism is a spirit, an attitude, a determination to make everything better. In the depression it produced the WPA, after World War two it exspressed itself in the Marshall Plan, in the sixties it promoted a war on poverty. Today, it is determined to win elections at every level of government so that a real national health program will replace controlled special interests. It will concern itself with worker's rights, stem cell research, better distribution of wealth, in short the greatest possible good for the largest number of people. It is the way to a better world.
