A progressive is someone who believes that the world can and should be a beautiful place, with justice and sustenance for all. A progressive can countenance an elite--but only if it was earned on the basis of merit, in an environment of equal opportunity. Finally, a progressive is willing to sacrifice time, money, and material posessions to make those visions a reality.
