A progressive is someone who is open to progress: moving forward in openness with our values, our technology, and our policy.The ultimate goal of progress is to provide the means for individuals to lead as free a life as possible without infringing on the lives of others. Progress includes managing our energy output so that we all have cleaner air, and an openness towards all value and belief systems, as long as they don't promote hate or violence towards others. And finally, 'progressive' is the progress of a government that will help facilitate these outcomes.This is the kind of progress that would make me proud to be a progressive.
